Synthesis of Nanogel-Protein Conjugat

We chose globular BSA protein with molecular weight of 66.5 kDa and pI of 4.7 as the model protein, because it contains a free cysteine on its surface at amino acid 34. Our first attempt to attach the protein to the nanogel was through direct conjugation using the available free thiol of Cys34 of BSA.

Chitosan/cashew gum nanogels for essential oil .

Highlights Lippia sidoides essential oil was successfully encapsulated in a cashew gum/chitosan polymeric matrix. Nanoparticle sizes ranged from 335 nm to 558 nm, mainly with unimodal distribution and positive potential zeta values. Oil presence in nanoparticles was corroborated by FTIR and bioassays. Nanoparticles were effective in killing larvae of dengue vector, in a sustained release fashion.
